Please don’t forget them

On D-Day, on the beaches of Normandy, Army Ranger David Sydney Brown, my mom’s oldest brother was killed. His fellow Ranger said he was next to him one moment, then he disappeared in a roar of smoke & heat.

In 1965, Chambliss Chesnutt, Major USAF, was flying a mission in Vietnam when his plane took a direct missle hit. His belongings would not be sent stateside for 20 years. He was buried in Little Rock in 1985.

The number of lives given for opur nation & for freedom & for others is staggering. On this Memorial Day weekend, please pause to give thanks; we must never let them be forgotten.

About Jackie Chesnutt

I am married to an amazingly forgiving and loving wife. We have a super son and a dynamite daughter. They are both married to great mates and have a combined six perfect children! We all live in and love NW Arkansas. God has been so very good in spite of me.

Jackie, I stood on Omaha Beach five years ago and was awed by the enormous odds of survival that our brave men faced. What a humbling, sobering experience. May we never forget the sacrifices made by those who went before us.
