Hey gang well summer is in full swing: it’s hot and the lake is packed and it seems like we have a trip every week. This week we will finish up with VBS and start go to Texas for the Rangers Game and Six Flags.
We have been having great crowds for our VBS class and some cool games and stuff that talk about Our Theme “Back to the Beginning” (Stories from Genesis) Tonight we’re talking about Cain and Able so don’t miss it.
Here are the details Print this off for your parents if they haven’t gotten a printed itinerary:
Where: We are going to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Six Flags over Texas we’re staying at the Howard Johnson in Arlington their phone number is: 817-461-1122. They have a continental breakfast and a swimming pool.
When: We will leave the church building at 9:00am on Wednesday the 1st and head south. We will stop for lunch in OK and arrive at the hotel around 4:00 we will get checked in and head to the ballpark. We?ll watch the Rangers play the Angels at 7:10, and then head back to the hotel. We will spend all day at Six Flags on Thursday so you need to have your money to buy your lunch there. We will come out of the park for dinner and then go back in for the evening. We will travel home on Friday morning and be back around 5 or 6:00pm.

What to bring: Three changes of clothes, Money for 5 meals with one being at six flags and one at rangers stadium enough for snacks and souvenirs, Sunscreen, Swimsuit, Toiletries.The Check for the trip is $45 and should be made out to Southside Church of Christ and I need it before we leave Wednesday.
It?s going to be a great fun trip where we?ll build lots of relationships. Hope you can come.

This weekend

Hey gang just wanted to let you know the plan for the weekend.
Saturday: Float trip Meet at church at 9:30am What to bring: 1) $25 2) A sack lunch in a ziplock bag or something that will keep it dry. 3) Modest swimwear please. If in question go more modest. No bikinis guys. 4) Sunscreen
We will float the river a little while and look for a good lunch spot. park our boats and eat lunch and then float on down the river.
We’ll be back between 6 and 6:30.
Sunday Night will be our Back to school cookout at the Williams house. we will go from 6-8:00 their place is the white 2-Story house on the right side of Dixieland as you head south just before the 4 way stop south of RHS.
Help us out and bring some goodies: drinks, chips, or desserts.
It will be a good evening of fun games Bocce, Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee, Good hot food, and a good lesson for the beginning of the summer.

This Summer

Here’s what’s happening in the near future:
Float Trip This Sat June 6th: Who 6-12th Graders When 9:30am-6:30pm Sat June 6th Where Leave from Southside go to the Illinois river near Tahlequah OK. Cost: $20 Plan: Bring a Sack lunch in something that can be taken on the river in a canoe or a raft. We’ll float a while and then eat lunch on the river. Swimming and good times are guaranteed. We’ll try to be back at Southside about 6:30pm.
End of School Cookout: Sunday night June 7th at William’s house. From 6-8 This is always a blast and we usually have a great crowd with a sweet game of ultimate frisbee, some bocce, Volleyball, good food and a good devo. (Girls Bring Chips or Desserts Guys bring a 2 Liter)
Wilderness Trek in Colorado: June 19-26 This is our backpacking adventure into the mountains of Colorado it’s one of the best trips you’ll ever go on and I have 5 open spots. Cost is $200 and it’s open to 9-12th Graders
Vacation Bible School: June 28-30 (Special activities just for the teens)
Six Flags, Rangers Game: July 1-3
Northwest AR Workcamp: July 6-10 (Reward day: Silver Dollar City)
Green Valley Bible Camp: July 12-18th
Mission Trip to Duluth Minnesota: July 25-31st.

This Week

Hey guys I hope you had a great day and a great weekend. This week is pretty normal we have TNT tonight at the Carmicals in Little flock. We had a great time there last week so come and join us at 6:30 for dinner and bible study. If you need to follow or ride in the van we’ll leave Southside at 6:15 and return at 8:20. Tomorrow night we begin our Wed night huddle groups. We’ll meet in the gym at 6:30 tomorrow to get started with what should be a great time of getting to know some of your friends even better than you already do. It will also help you get to know some kids in your youth group you aren’t already familiar with. Sign up for Christeens youth Rally in Russellville on the teen bulletin board. It is Feb 20-21st. We’ll spend the night at a hotel Friday and come home Sat night the 21st about Cost: $35 When: Feb 20-21st We?ll leave Friday afternoon at 4:30 and get home Sat about 11:30 P.M.Who 7-12th GradeWhere: Russellville, ARBring $ for two Meals: Lunch and Dinner on Sat are going to be fast food. Breakfast on Sat will be free at the hotel. The Bison Daze trip is the next weekend and will be open to Juniors and seniors. Hey gang well it’s good to be home after being out of the routine for a few weeks Im glad to get back to normal. It was hard to leave fresh powder on the mountain, but I guess we’ll hit it again in March. This week we have some good stuff lined up for you: TNT at the Morton’s house tonight the menu is Mexican so bring tortilla chips and drinks. we’ll meet as usual at Southside at 6:15 if you need a ride or at the Morton’s house at 6:30. we’ll be done at the Mortons by 8:15 and back at Southside by 8:20. Wed night we’ll take a look at our plan for Huddle groups. Sunday night is Sunday night Live here at Southside so Bring a friend and an appetite. We’re going to do something different this time and it should be great. There will be lot’s of time spent in worship and fellowship. Monday you since the Schools are going to be out Tiffany suggested we take a hiking/caving/climbing trip. Hey gang here’s an update to let you know what’s going on this week.Wed 6:30 pm we’ll continue our class on the personality of Jesus it well be good so come and bring a friend.Sat. 2:00-8:00 pm Middle School Road trip: We’re going to take a Road trip to Lokomotion in Fayetteville and get some pizza on our way home. Cost is $20 for a three hour arm band for unlimited action at lokomotion this includes everything but the arcade games. At Lokomotion they have Go Karts, Laser Tag, Mechanical Bull, Mini Golf possibly bumper boats if they are working. We will take the vans and then eat pizza at Cicis on the way home. This is for 6-8th Graders and a select few high schoolers as sponsors. If you are a high schooler and want to go as a sponsor let me know.Sun: 5:25-9:00: Sunday Night Live at Robinson Ave Church of Christ in Springdale. This is the first Area wide teen worship service of the year and is always a great one. There will be a great lesson and speaker and free food. This Week for the Teens

Guys bring a 2-liter drink girls bring chips or dessert. TNT will be at their house the entire month of September. Wed night class is at 6:30 we’ll continue to look at the character of Jesus plays some games and do some cool things. This weekend is Senior Retreat at Green Valley. If you have not registered online or with Marshall already you need to so we can get a head count for our activities. If you or a friend decide to come at the last minute that’s fine, but we’d like to know in advance if you can. Check in at the retreat starts at 10:00 pm and if you can’t make it that early we’ll be up late to welcome you so you can be there even if you have a ball game fri night. Sunday morning we are going to split our classes and go to a new format of High School and Middle School class. Hey guys we’re gonna have a busy week. Saturday: If you have looked at the Calendar recently you’ll notice a Junior High Road Trip. We are going to postpone that but it’s gonna happen Sept 13th. If it’s still warm enough we’ll take the wakeboard boat out. If it’s too cold we’ll go to Fastlane or something like that. So put it on your calendar for just the 6-8th Graders.Sunday: We’ll have class together Sunday morning and the back to school cookout on Sunday night at Green valley. Go to Green Valley bible camp at 6:00 we’ll have a cookout and games out in the field, and we’ll have a devo to talk about “projects” and the upcoming school year. We’ll be done about 8:30 so have your ride there then.TNT is at my house at 720 Lake View drive Rogers the rest of August. So come relax hang out and we’ll start our study this week. I think you’ll be blessed if you take time to be there. If you want to host TNT at your house in the next few months let me know.Wednesday night at 7:00 we are going to get together at church to talk about what the teens are going to do together on Wed nights. If you didn’t get the last message as far as the teens are concerned we are actually going to do more stuff on Wed nights instead of less. This Wed we are going to get together to have a brainstorming / idea session. If you have a cool idea of something we can do on a wed night or on another midweek night then bring your ideas and we’ll put them all together.Jumpstart is next Friday and Sat the 22-23rd. If you haven’t been before this is a huge youth rally in Neosho Missouri. 7-12th graders are invited to go. We will leave at 5:00 Friday and return home about 11-11:45 Sat night. We stay Friday night in a hotel in Neosho and enjoy a great youth rally with teens from all over this area. Sign up ASAP outside of Marshalls office. The cost is $35 and if you want a T-shirt its another $10.Senior Retreat at Green Valley is Sept. 5-7 you can still register at www.greenvalleybiblecamp.com or there are registration forms outside Marshall’s office. It will be a great weekend for 10-12th graders for $25. Marshall Brown directs it and it’s like a short version of camp for just the older kids. Well we are getting back into the regular swing of things again and we are going to start TNT back up this month. It will be at My house at 6:30 every Tuesday night this month. Guys bring a 2-Liter and Girls bring chips or dessert.If you’ve never been to TNT or don’t know what it is the whole youth group is invited to someones house where we get together catch up on the all the “gossip”, eat dinner and have a bible study. We always have a really relaxed good time it usually ends around 8:30 and we head home. If you haven’t been before it’s a good habit to get into. If you want to host one at your house let me know ASAP and we’ll get it on the Fall CalenderThis Wed is the church ice cream supper so bring your appetite and come to church AT 6:00 INSTEAD of 7:00 so remember that.This Sunday afternoon we are going ot a Naturals game if we have atleast 20 WE get a dollar off our tickets which we will purchase at eh door so bring $7.00 with you to the church at 3:15 Sunday afternoon.you also need to bring $ for dinner at the ballpark.
